How it Works

Implementation studies are designed to investigate the practicalities of using an edtech tool sustainably over time and at scale across multiple contexts.

We will work with you to, first, understand more about your target users and school systems and then find at least two school systems within our network that both need your tool and represent different contexts and/or student populations.

During the study we will validate  the effectiveness of and identify any persistent barriers of the onboarding process and supporting materials, optimal duration and frequency of use, and optimal ways of using the product with students across a large and diverse sample. We collect this data using pre- and post-surveys, focus groups, interviews, and user journals.

We then synthesize this data and create a final report that includes recommendations for product modifications and implementation guidelines.

Guiding Research Questions

  • What are the most effective techniques to integrate use of the product into the classroom?

  • How do contextual factors influence implementation success or failure?

  • How can these contextual factors be modified to increase chances of success?

Details

  • Duration - 6+ Months

  • Sample Size - ≤10 classrooms / 2 schools

Benefits

  • Develop evidence-based implementation guidelines

  • Increase product usage and retention

  • Decrease churn rate

Who it’s for

  • Companies that have a product which has been in schools for over 1 year and are ready to scale.

  • Companies who want to develop or improve implementation guidelines and understand the most effective techniques to integrate use of the product into the classroom.

  • Companies who want to increase product usage and retention.

Prerequisites

  • Logic Model

  • Evidence of interoperability

  • One or more years of demonstrated use by at least 350 end users

  • User training resources and onboarding protocols

  • Guidelines for teacher implementation that are grounded in prior feasibility research
