Schools and researchers need ways to engage with each other beyond transactional relationships. Through strategic partnerships these two groups can elevate educator voice in the development of new interventions and spur innovation within a school system.

In this session, Leanlab Education, and Clinton County R-3 School District will discuss their multi-year engagement to research edtech, build real-world learning solutions, and conduct large-scale research on innovative practices.

Understanding how social emotional learning is working for students is critical for the success of the next generation of these tools, but how do we measure how they’re actually working in the classroom? Leanlab Education and Sown to Grow have teamed up over the past two years to research just that. In this session, we'll discuss with edtech developers, classroom teachers, and researchers how they work together to learn what works and what doesn't when it comes to SEL.

Research has long had a reputation of being too expensive, too slow, and not actionable.Translating research into practice well, means it must come just in time, be right-sized, and presented in a way that is understandable by all. In this session, panelists from nationally recognized institutions will share their practices that work to close the gap between users' needs and what we build. Inventive and feasible practices are what tie these examples together.
