Pango Standards Barriers 

  1. The biggest reported barrier was the difficulty in finding the relevant standards for their school.  Even after assistance during the first interview, teachers struggled to search for and find their schools’ standards. (Refer to the first report for more on this barrier.)

    • “I couldn’t find the right standards.”

  2. Another barrier was how the search results appeared. The full text was hidden, so teachers didn’t notice the relevant standard actually did populate.  Furthermore, teachers didn’t understand that once they clicked “Add Standard to Class” that they had to return to their lesson plan, click on Choose Standard again, and then find the list to choose from, so they didn’t realize the full list of standards had been added to their template for choosing. 

  3. Teachers found they were limited by only adding standards from one subject in each lesson plan.

  • “I had to create separate units (science and reading) if I wanted to do a lesson that combined two subjects, because there was no way to list both science and language standards in a single lesson.”
