Pango Standards Action Steps

1. Provide commonly used standards for courses outside math and literacy (i.e. physical education, health, business, science).  

   • “Add standards for other subjects like physical education.”

   • “I didn’t use them. They aren’t the standards we recognize at our school. We recognize the Shape America national standards (for physical education).”

2. Add a search function that would allow teachers to search for standards by the code (i.e. CCSS.ELA-Literacy).

   • “There was no way to search for the ‘code’ of my curriculum and standards.”

3. Add functionality to include standards from multiple subject areas into the same lesson. 

   • “Allow standards from more than one subject in the same lesson.”

4. Teachers suggest to change the functionally in a way that once they click on Use in a Class after finding it in the search area, that it takes them directly back to the standard section of their lesson plan rather than to the main page of the lesson plan. Even more ideal would be to have an option at the very beginning during account set-up/class creation that asks users which standards they use, so that the default standards list in the lesson plan becomes the one they selected in the beginning.
